FESTIVAL
The São Paulo Film Festival (SPFF) is an annual independent film festival held in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Recognized for its curatorship and artistic diversity, SPFF celebrates national and international productions, offering audiences a plural and contemporary cinematic experience.
The 8th edition, taking place from December 14 to 16, 2025, will be held in person at the historic Reag Belas Artes, one of the most traditional cinemas in the city, and also online through the festival’s official website.
SPFF features a broad curatorship of short films that explore new narratives and span various genres such as drama, science fiction, horror, comedy, romance, fantasy, thriller, and animation. Our focus is to highlight authorial voices and unique perspectives from filmmakers around the world, valuing productions that expand cinematic language and contemporary storytelling.
Throughout its editions, the São Paulo Film Festival has selected over 300 films from more than 30 countries, establishing itself as one of the most representative short film festivals in Brazil.
