FESTIVAL

The São Paulo Film Festival (SPFF) is an annual independent film festival held in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Recognized for its curatorship and artistic diversity, SPFF celebrates national and international productions, offering audiences a plural and contemporary cinematic experience.

The 8th edition, taking place from December 14 to 16, 2025, will be held in person at the historic Reag Belas Artes, one of the most traditional cinemas in the city, and also online through the festival’s official website.

SPFF features a broad curatorship of short films that explore new narratives and span various genres such as drama, science fiction, horror, comedy, romance, fantasy, thriller, and animation. Our focus is to highlight authorial voices and unique perspectives from filmmakers around the world, valuing productions that expand cinematic language and contemporary storytelling.

Throughout its editions, the São Paulo Film Festival has selected over 300 films from more than 30 countries, establishing itself as one of the most representative short film festivals in Brazil.

O São Paulo Film Festival (SPFF) é um festival anual de cinema independente realizado na cidade de São Paulo, Brasil. Reconhecido pela curadoria e diversidade artística, o SPFF celebra produções nacionais e internacionais, oferecendo ao público uma experiência cinematográfica plural e contemporânea.

A 8ª edição, que acontece de 14 a 16 de dezembro de 2025, será realizada presencialmente no histórico Reag Belas Artes, uma das salas de cinema mais tradicionais da cidade, e também de forma online através do site oficial do festival.

O SPFF apresenta uma curadoria ampla de curtas-metragens que exploram novas narrativas e transitam por diversos gêneros, como drama, ficção científica, terror, comédia, romance, fantasia, suspense e animação. Nosso foco é revelar vozes autorais e perspectivas singulares de cineastas do mundo inteiro, valorizando produções que expandem a linguagem e o olhar sobre o cinema contemporâneo.

Ao longo de suas edições, o São Paulo Film Festival já selecionou mais de 300 filmes de mais de 30 países, consolidando-se como um dos festivais de curtas-metragens mais representativos do Brasil.
